Arts Festival

Every third weekend in October when the air gets crisp and the leaves are changing color to show off their fall best, thousands of visitors flock to the Brookhaven Arts Festival, one of the oldest juried fine arts and crafts festivals in the area.
For two days, Apple Valley Road is transformed into an arts and crafts extravaganza featuring more than 140 artists from across the country along with live music, mouthwatering food and drinks, vintage car show, and fun activities for kids.
Under Director Kelly Marsh of the Brookhaven Community Foundation, the Brookhaven Arts Festival recently celebrated its 15th anniversary and continues to raise the bar for fun and creativity every year. The festival organizers’ passion for bringing something truly unique to every tent and to the community at large has garnered praise not only from attendees and artists, but from the press as well. The fest has been featured in the Atlanta Journal Constitution, Atlanta Business Chronicle, and many other publications. Atlanta Magazine named Brookhaven Arts Festival one of the top five don’t-miss fall events.
Truly a diverse array of talent for all the senses, artisans at the festival include ceramicists, jewelers, painters and photographers, sketch artists, metalworkers, clothing and fashion designers, woodworkers, and glass blowers…everything from upcycled art to digital creations all come together for a weekend of wonders.
Live music happens every hour, both days, on the stage at the festival’s center, surrounded by tables where you can take a seat and enjoy a plate of falafel or funnel cake from the nearby food tents while listening to some of the best musicians around. With performers across the musical spectrum from Blues to Country, Rock to Folk, R&B to Jazz, and Pop to Soul, you’ll get to hear (and dance to) some of Georgia’s finest.
Ever-popular with families in Brookhaven and beyond, friendly staff and volunteers make sure there’s plenty to do for the youngest visitors, with kids’ activity booths for face painting, sand art, henna tattoos, arts and crafts, and even mini pumpkin painting to kick off the fall season.
Just a few steps from the music tent at the center of the main drag, a path leads to the festival’s oldest guests: antique automobiles spanning decades of automotive style, all in mint condition or built out with unexpected and over-the-top custom details. Stop and chat with owners, collectors, and enthusiasts on your way through.
Conveniently located directly behind the Brookhaven MARTA station with plenty of free parking for everyone’s not-so-vintage cars, the Festival welcomes all visitors—even dogs. Bring the family, grab a friend, and make a date for one of the best events of the year!
